Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the support and maintenance of broadcast systems equipment, providing secondary support on Broadcast infrastructure, and participating in departmental key initiatives and projects.  This person will report to the Manager of Engineering. This position is also responsible for adhering to all of TWC’s Engineering standards and processes.



Current enrollment in a college level or technical school technology based education program, familiar with television broadcast systems, including analog, digital and IP based video and audio systems.




  • Familiarity in the use of related test equipment including, but not limited to, waveform monitors, vector scopes, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test signal generators, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to relate to the unique needs and problems of a 24-hour operation with critical deadlines.

  • Ability to manage several active tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Exceptional interpersonal teamwork skills.


  • Knowledge of Broadcast Production Equipment including but not limited to Computer based Edit Systems, Production Switchers, Audio Consoles, Broadcast Camera Systems, Digital Effect Systems and associated support equipment.

  • Knowledge of Unix, Windows OS, Linux, and LAN systems a plus.  


The ideal candidate must be able to lift, move and install broadcast equipment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily checks to ensure proper operation of broadcast systems.  

  • Help perform equipment installations, equipment repairs, system repairs, and various tasks as assigned.

  • Demonstrate a strong desire to continually increase technical and operational knowledge of all equipment and systems, while being part of a team dedicated to continually improving the processes used to serve Broadcast Engineering's customers.

  • Participate in new BE initiatives as assigned by the Design and Integration Team, and the Manager of Broadcast Engineering.

  • Maintain records which include, but are not limited to, learning and supporting Engineering shift logs, Engineering Service Request forms, Infrastructure Documentation, parts and equipment inventories, etc.

  • Assist on preventive maintenance of equipment as scheduled.

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

  • Undergrads - Enrolled in an undergrad program at an accredited college or university. 18 years or older and current sophomore standing, no more than a graduating senior by the start of the summer session
  • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week either on a part-time or full-time basis
  • Must be US Citizen or on F1 visa
