Position Summary

The Executive Producer is responsible for managing a segment of the Programming team and creating engaging, topical content for fifty-plus hours of live programming a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of producers and associate producers for live programming
  • Develop topical, engaging content on a daily basis
  • Supervise the segment producers for all live and taped segments, making sure broadcast needs are consistently being met
  • Oversee the team during severe and breaking weather coverage
  • Script day of air weather and news packages for broadcasts
  • Manage the control room during the live Morning Show broadcasts
  • Work closely with on-air talent; including on-air presentation, scripting and field production
  • Act as liaison with other TWC managers and departments; including the TWC Assignment Desk and Digital Teams

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

  • College degree in Journalism or Communications required
  • 5 years recent and significant live television/ control room and production/development experience required
  • Direct experience in cable and or broadcast network television is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable in developing and producing rich content/diverse programming for multiple platforms aimed at broadening the networks (on-air, broadband, et al) demographic appeal
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with production, post-production and on-air talent
  • Story-driven writing/producing experience
  • Interpersonal skills to work with all levels of customers.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with various other departments, including Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, Marketing, PR, Education and Legal
  • Able to manage the repurposing and/or reversioning of various content
  • Ability to operate strategically and tactically as the situation demands
  • Desire to achieve, flexibility and willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done in a 24x7 environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent Writing/Verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of current events
  • Excellent collaborative skills and ability to work well on a team

Hours
