Position Summary

The ES Digital Group AE is responsible for generating ad revenue for an assigned list of digital agencies and territories, and achieving target goals. The AE conducts sales activity for Local Now, Pattern and other ES portfolio properties, as directed and supervised by the VP Head of ES Digital Ad Sales. The AE will work with the portfolio team to support sales generated via TV/Video agency buyers. The AE will strive to achieve best results by working in collaboration with Marketing, Pricing and Planning, Research and Sales Management. The AE is expected to travel and entertain to build relationships with agency and client contacts in New York and throughout the Eastern region. The AE is responsible for overseeing support team on account management and fulfillment; additionally, AE is to train and develop junior team members. The Sales AE will report on sales activity, revenue projections, account updates and more to Ad Sales senior management. The ideal candidate will have 6 or more years of experience in the digital media industry, preferably in sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sell and manage digital agency accounts in designated territory  
  • Perform sales calls, client presentations, entertainment, negotiations, custom research, marketing development and execution, and all sales activity  
  • Secure ad revenue for ES digital properties and achieve target goals  
  • Facilitate communication with split selling partners and work in collaboration with nationwide sales team  
  • Foster relations with clients and agency contacts in the marketplace  
  • Follow pricing policies to maximize revenue; work with P&I to manage deal making  
  • Work with Marketing to develop client solutions and proposals  
  • Work with Research to maximize sales  
  • Work with all available sources to identify potential customers  
  • Manage and develop solutions that optimize customer satisfaction  
  • Work with Management to develop sale revenue goals, develop account business plans and report on results
  • Work with team to monetize new media products and expand sales revenue potential for firm  
  • Manage T&E expenses responsibly

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6 years of media industry and sales experience with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with a strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional written and oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
