Position Summary

The VP Ad Sales Marketing is responsible for leading sales of marketing partnerships that generate premium revenue for the Entertainment Studios and Weather Group portfolio of media properties. The VP Ad Sales Marketing reports to the SVP Head of Advertising Sales, and works closely with Network Programming and Marketing executives across the portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The VP leads and manages a team of six to accomplish all facets of the ad marketing function. This includes:

  • Manage the Director that develops marketing sponsorship packages for advertisers to achieve higher share of revenue and/or higher pricing
  • Oversee execution team that fulfills on sold partnerships, ranging from billboards to custom integrations and branded content series
  • Collaborate with Ad Sales Management, Research and Network leadership to develop advertising marketplace positioning, and lead the execution of the communication plan across all components including presentations, trade ad campaigns, sales materials, videos, ad trade PR, client events, premiums and more
  • Sell at a high level with the Ad Sales team and the EVP Client Solutions to bring in big partnerships that set our portfolio apart from the competition and deliver best-in-class solutions to our clients
  • Direct and manage the Event/Branded Agency that assists with product placement, branded content and co-production, and event sales across the ES/Weather portfolio
  • Be a key member of the Ad Sales Management team and collaborate with constituents across the Weather Group and Entertainment Studios teams to achieve superior performance in the industry
  • Develop and manage the Ad Marketing budget for all portfolio properties
  • Develop and grow team talent to advance their skill sets and careers
  • Participate in industry events, panels and other client-facing events to promote the innovation and excellence of Entertainment Studios and Weather Group

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of marketing and media industry experience, with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities; cable television and ad sales marketing a plus
  • Strong client and agency relationships, spanning media contacts, branded entertainment relationships and marketing executives at leading advertiser organizations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Highly motivated with a strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Exceptional written and oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
